SOKOTO SPIUs ATTENDING IsDB RAAMP SCALE-UP APPRAISAL MISSION IN ABUJA.
The Appraisal Mission for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Scale-Up continue today (Thursday January 8, 2026) at The Palms Hotel, Abuja, bringing together key stakeholders from the five participating states including Adamawa, Enugu, Ekiti, Niger and Sokoto, alongside representatives of Federal Project Management Unit (FMPU) and development partners.
The mission commence with a welcome address by the National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engr. Aminu Mohammed Bodinga, who reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to improving rural accessibility and strengthening agricultural marketing hubs across the country. He noted that the appraisal mission marks a critical stage in assessing readiness for the IsDB Scale-up phase, consolidating achievements recorded under the existing RAAMP project, and aligning future interventions with national development priorities.
In his remarks, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Team Lead, Ousmane Diaby, emphasized the importance of inclusive development, particularly the empowerment of women and youths as pillars of the RAAMP Scale-Up. He stressed that sustainable rural development cannot be achieved without deliberate investment in human capital.
Following the opening session, the mission progresses to a technical session, beginning with detailed presentations by the Federal Project Management Unit and the State Project Coordinators. The presentations outlined Federal and State-level preparedness for the scale-up phase, setting the stage for further technical reviews and discussions.
The appraisal mission is expected to continue with rigorous technical engagements aimed at ensuring effective implementation of the RAAMP IsDB Scale-Up, enhancing rural road infrastructure, in participating states.
